We take a big topic. We write down the roles; these are the dots. We connect the dots with string. The shorter the string the close power distance between the roles. We the play with the whole by moving the dots, lengthen or shorten the strings, and see if a big idea unfolds

About the event

# The Importance of Training the Ability to Perceive and Sense the Whole

The whole is the nuanced, intricate layers of relational connections that constantly flow around us. It cannot be fully quantified or entirely comprehended, making it impossible to control completely. If we don’t keep our eye in, it is easy to become out of tune with the whole. When this occurs, we find ourselves expending increasing amounts of energy attempting to prevent our plans from being derailed by external factors. In our exhaustion, we may resort to seizing whatever is readily available, doing nothing at all, or attempting to push our way through. All of which fails because we are out of tune with the whole. It's why we train to stay tuned into the whole. It's why it is the one non-technical skill the best rely on the most.
